Home on the Ridge
Home and Community Expo
This fall, Johnny Appleseed Days is growing to include Home on the Ridge: Home and Community Expo, a welcoming place where visitors, prospective residents, newcomers, and longtime locals can easily discover what life on the Paradise Ridge has to offer.
Held inside the Paradise Veterans Memorial Hall during Johnny Appleseed Days, the expo will bring local businesses, organizations, and community resources together in one convenient location.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking businesses and organizations that can help visitors better understand, experience, and connect with life on the Paradise Ridge, including:
- Home builders, contractors, and skilled trades
- Realtors, lenders, title companies, and insurance providers
- Landscaping, tree, and property-service professionals
- Schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations
- Arts, culture, recreation, and entertainment groups
- Local agencies and informational resources
- Businesses and organizations that contribute to everyday life in Paradise and Magalia
We are looking for approachable, community-minded participants who are ready to share helpful information, answer questions, and create meaningful connections.

Why We’re Creating This Expo
People interested in the Paradise Ridge often have questions that cannot be answered by a home listing or a website alone. They want to understand the community, meet local professionals, learn about available services, and experience what it feels like to spend time here.
Home on the Ridge will make that information easier to find by bringing housing, services, culture, recreation, and community resources together during one of the Paradise Ridge’s most beloved traditions.
Our goal is to create an informative and welcoming environment—not a high-pressure sales experience. Visitors should leave feeling better acquainted with the Paradise Ridge, confident in the resources available here, and encouraged to continue exploring our community.
What We Hope to Accomplish
Home on the Ridge is designed to support local economic development while extending a warm welcome to prospective and new residents.
Through the expo, we hope to:
- Introduce visitors to the businesses and organizations that serve the Paradise Ridge
- Help prospective residents learn about homes, services, schools, recreation, arts, and community life
- Give newcomers an easy way to make local connections
- Encourage visitors to explore Paradise and Magalia beyond the festival
- Support local businesses by creating thoughtful, relevant introductions
- Show visitors what living on the Paradise Ridge looks like today
As part of our Piece of Paradise campaign, we will invite an audience of approximately 25,000 people in the Sacramento area to visit the Paradise Ridge and experience Johnny Appleseed Days weekend.
How Your Participation Helps
Your booth is an opportunity to help tell the story of the Paradise Ridge.
By participating, you can share your knowledge, answer questions, introduce visitors to your work, and help them understand the people and resources available within our community. Every welcoming conversation contributes to a more complete picture of what it means to live, work, create, and belong on the Paradise Ridge.
Together, participating businesses and organizations will provide something no single advertisement can: a genuine introduction to the community from the people who know and serve it.
